Principal Engineer

About the Opportunity

As we continue to scale, we're looking for experienced Staff and Principal Software Engineers who are passionate about designing distributed systems, mentoring engineers, and driving technical strategy across multiple teams.

This is an opportunity to have significant influence on architecture, product direction, and engineering culture while solving challenging technical problems at scale.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native applications using TypeScript.
• Drive architecture decisions across multiple engineering teams and services.
• Build highly available, performant APIs and backend systems.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to define technical strategy.
• Champion engineering best practices including testing, observability, security, and code quality.
• Mentor senior engineers and serve as a technical leader across the organization.
• Identify technical debt and develop long-term solutions that improve scalability and developer productivity.
• Lead technical planning for large cross-functional initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive experience building production applications with TypeScript.
• Deep expertise in modern backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-based applications (AWS preferred).
• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, performance optimization, and system design.
• Demonstrated experience leading large technical initiatives without direct management responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and message queues.
• Experience working in high-growth SaaS organizations.
• Familiarity with logistics, supply chain, or enterprise B2B software is a plus.
