Organization:

HR WD Sustainment

Job Summary:

The Workday Functional Configuration Consultant serves on the HR Sustainment team, acting as a trusted internal consultant to business stakeholders. This role partners closely with internal clients to analyze needs, recommend appropriate Workday solutions, and configure system changes that support business objectives while ensuring there are no negative downstream impacts to payroll, benefits, time tracking, or other integrated systems.

With a primary functional focus on Absence Management, the consultant works directly with the absence business team to support requests such as new PTO plans, corrections, and process improvements. Rather than simply executing changes, this role consults with and influences the business, helping stakeholders understand system capabilities, tradeoffs, and the most effective, future‑proof approach to meeting their needs. Requests may originate from both business partners and IT.

The consultant plays a key role in Workday service updates and bi‑annual releases, proactively reviewing new functionality to assess impacts to the Absence module and related processes. Responsibilities include testing new features, documenting and flagging risks or concerns, providing feedback to Workday when necessary, and clearly presenting changes and enhancements to business partners to support informed decision‑making.
