Description

The Digital Delivery Lead is the primary Digital Delivery resource assigned to projects and is responsible for leading the execution of Digital Delivery workflows throughout the project lifecycle. This role focuses on how projects are delivered day-to-day, ensuring that BIM processes, coordination workflows, standards, and tools are applied consistently on projects in alignment with enterprise Digital Delivery strategy.

The Digital Delivery Lead works closely with Project Managers, Discipline Leads, and Digital Delivery Managers to support project setup, coordination, execution, and closeout. The role serves as the primary point of contact for Digital Delivery on assigned projects, leading model coordination, managing digital workflows, and supporting delivery quality. The Digital Delivery Lead collaborates with Digital Delivery Specialists for advanced workflows and works under the guidance of Digital Delivery Managers to ensure alignment with standards, templates, and SOPs.

This role is ideal for a hands-on BIM professional with strong coordination experience, a deep understanding of multidisciplinary project delivery, and the ability to support project teams through effective communication, technical expertise, and problem-solving. The position requires balancing production support with coordination leadership and ensuring that Digital Delivery supports design intent, constructability, and overall project success.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Delivery Execution / Standards Application

  • Apply Digital Delivery standards, BIM Execution Plans, templates, and workflows across assigned projects to ensure consistency and compliance with enterprise requirements.
  • Support Project Delivery teams in applying BIM and Digital Delivery requirements for federal and institutional clients (such as GSA, DoD, NAVFAC, USACE, VA, etc.) and other applicable clients, ensuring project-level workflows align with established digital delivery, data, and security standards.
  • Support implementation of model management practices, naming conventions, file structures, and QA/QC processes aligned with Digital Delivery standards.
  • Coordinate with Digital Delivery Managers to ensure standards are properly interpreted and consistently applied in project environments.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and delivery methods, and participate in pilot testing as directed by the Digital Delivery Leadership Team.
  • Capture project-level lessons learned, recurring coordination issues, workflow gaps, and standards adoption challenges, and communicate feedback to Digital Delivery Managers to support continuous improvement of standards, templates, and SOPs.

Project Startup / Delivery Support

  • Support project startup activities including Forma project creation and Design Collaboration setup, multi-disciplinary Revit model creation, initialization and linking, template configuration, coordination structure, and other team collaboration platform setup as necessary.
  • Assist in development and execution of BIM Execution Plans and project-specific Digital Delivery workflows.
  • Work with Project Managers, Digital Delivery Managers and Discipline Leads to ensure Digital Delivery expectations are clearly defined and implemented during project mobilization.
  • Coordinate model exports, PDF publishing, Clarity exports, and Bluebeam Studio review sessions in support of project milestones, internal technical reviews (ITR’s), and client submissions.

Model Coordination / Project Execution

  • Lead multidisciplinary model coordination efforts including clash detection, issue tracking, and resolution workflows across design teams.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings and ensure alignment between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
  • Support design teams in resolving coordination issues while maintaining design intent, constructability, and delivery quality.
  • Monitor model health, coordination progress, and digital deliverables throughout project execution.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, and Digital Delivery Managers to align workflows, responsibilities, and coordination strategies.
  • Work with Digital Delivery Specialists to integrate advanced workflows such as automation, visualization, reality capture and digital twins when required.
  • Coordinate with IT and support teams as needed to resolve platform, access, or integration issues impacting project delivery.

Delivery Quality / QA-QC

  • Perform model QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with project standards and Digital Delivery requirements.
  • Validate coordination processes, model accuracy, and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support identification and resolution of delivery risks, coordination conflicts, and workflow issues.

Project Closeout & Digital Handover

  • Validate model completeness, coordination issue closure, QA/QC compliance, and required digital deliverables at project closeout.
  • Ensure coordination workflows, model review processes, and delivery documentation are completed and archived in accordance with project and Digital Delivery requirements.
  • Support project teams in preparing models, exports, PDFs, data deliverables, and supporting documentation for final submissions and handoff activities.

Training / Team Support

  • Provide day-to-day support and informal training to project teams on Digital Delivery tools, workflows, and standards.
  • Assist Digital Delivery Managers with identifying training opportunities, and onboarding and coaching of staff, particularly at the project level.
  • Promote adoption of Digital Delivery tools and best practices across disciplines.

Direct vs. Indirect work allocation

  • This is primarily a project-facing (direct) role focused on supporting project delivery and coordination.
  • Direct 80-90% of time: supporting active projects, coordination, execution, and deliverables.
  • Indirect 10-20%: supporting training, coordination improvements, and standards feedback.

Professional Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in A/E/C, infrastructure, or related industries with a strong focus on BIM, digital coordination, and project delivery support.
  • BS/BA Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM coordination workflows, including clash detection, model navigation, issue tracking, and QA/QC processes.
  • Familiarity with supporting Federal Enclave VDI workflows, Autodesk for Government and CUI Project Delivery requirements.
  • Familiarity with supporting technologies such as Navisworks, ACC / Forma, Revizto, Civil 3D, Dynamo, Clarity, Ideate, PyRevit, Revolution Design, Pirros, Guardian, reality capture workflows, digital asset data and advanced visualization / XR and data analytics / PowerBI is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary project environments, including architecture, MEP, structural systems, and coordination workflows.
  • Ability to support development, implementation and adherence to BIM Execution Plans, model standards, and digital delivery processes across all project phases.
  • Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across projects.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across diverse teams and clearly articulate technical workflows.
