Data Engineer Lead, RBQM

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer Lead to support cloud-based applications and data integrations within an AWS environment. This individual will work closely with internal engineering teams, vendors, and testing teams to configure and integrate SaaS applications, establish secure data flows, and support application onboarding.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 5–8 years of software/data engineering experience with strong hands-on AWS knowledge, API integrations, databases, and cloud security concepts. This role also requires the ability to coordinate technical activities across engineers, vendors, and testers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, configuration, and integration of applications within an AWS cloud environment.

• Work with third-party vendors to configure and onboard SaaS applications.

• Configure and support databases, APIs, SSO, data products, and data-transfer processes within AWS.

• Support application provisioning and deprovisioning processes.

• Implement and support API-based integrations between applications and enterprise platforms.

• Work hands-on with AWS services including S3, ECS, Lambda, ElastiCache, KMS, IAM, and Secrets Manager.

• Coordinate with Data Engineers and testing teams throughout development and implementation.

• Partner with testers to explain application functionality, expected behaviors, and appropriate test coverage.

• Support unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices within the engineering lifecycle.

• Troubleshoot application, integration, and data-flow issues.

• Apply cloud security and software engineering best practices.

• Provide technical guidance and coordination to Data Engineers and testers.

• Collaborate effectively with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional software development, data engineering, or related technical experience.

• Strong understanding of AWS architecture and cloud-native application environments.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, ECS, Lambda, ElastiCache, KMS, IAM, and Secrets Manager.

• Experience configuring or integrating SaaS applications within an enterprise environment.

• Strong understanding of databases, APIs, SSO, data transfers, and application integrations.

• Experience with application provisioning/deprovisioning and onboarding.

• Understanding of API-based integration patterns.

• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Understanding of TDD/BDD practices and testing frameworks.

• Good understanding of cloud and application security best practices.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, vendor, and testing teams.

• Ability to provide technical leadership and coordinate the work of Data Engineers and testers.
